For the production of banana fibers no resources are needed.
Banana fibers are part of the crop residues of the banana cultivation.
We conduct research on various technologies to transform fibers originating from the stem of the banana plant into sustainable textile.
We work on fully biodegradable products.
After the banana harvest the stem of the banana plant is organic waste material with no further purpose. We extract the fibrous material from the banana stem. The rest of the stem can be used as an organic fertilizer, but we are also working solutions to make use of its nutritional value.
It is important for us that processing the fibers is done in an organic way. No chemicals are added.
We work with research institutes , agricultural cooperatives and industry partners to develop textiles for different purposes.
Sounds interesting? We would love to hear from you.
